What
to do
When
You Get In An Accident
First
of all, keep calm and don't feel like the Lone Ranger. There are more
than 250,000 accidents in British Columbia every year. Each one of them
is inconvenient to everyone involved, but by taking a few simple steps,
you can make sure your inconvenience is kept to a minimum.
1.
Keep calm! Now's the time you need a clear head.
2.
Get all the pertinent facts at the time of the accident. "Find
out the who, what, when and where." Make a note of the time
of day, place of accident, get all names, address's, auto/license numbers
and drivers license number of the involved parties.
3.
Report the accident immediately to your insurance company. They'll
tell you what to do next.
4.
Cooperate with Your Insurance Company.
You'll find they are as interested as you are in making sure you get
treated fairly and that your inconvenience is kept to a minimum.
5.
Choose Courtenay Collision, a body shop you have confidence in
for your repair work. A shop that will give you quality work at a fair
price. REMEMBER: you , and only you , have the right to choose
where your car is to be repaired.
6.
As soon as possible after
the accident, if your vehicle appears to be driveable, take it to the
body shop of your choice. The body shop can then check your brakes,
lights and any other damage which may inhibit your vehicle's safe operation.
Damage which appears minor could be considerably more serious.
