How
to choose
A
Qualified Body Shop
When you've been
involved in an accident, you have the right to choose the body shop
you feel will do the kind of work you want done. There are hundreds
to choose from, many good, some not so good. Here are a few things to
look for:
1. Is it clean?
How well a shop takes care of its own place of business will give
you an idea of how well they will take care of your car.
2. Is it organized?
By this time, you've been inconvenienced enough. You want to put your
car into the competent hands of people who will do the job right and
deliver when promised.
3. How's their
reputation? Ask the dealer who sold you your car, friends, or business
associates. Find out who does the good work in town.
4. Take a look
at their work. It's easy to tell good body work. You can't see it!
The best repairs aren't suppose to show. Ask to see some of the work
in progress and a completed job, if available. A good shop is proud
of their work and should be more than happy to show you around their
premises.
5. How are you
treated? Deal with people who give you a feeling they are honest,
competent and willing to do their best for you.
6. Are they
well-equipped? The vehicles of the 90's and 2000's are built differently
and it takes special equipment to repair them. Make sure you trust your
car to the shop that has invested in the most up-to-date equipment and
technology. That way, you will be assured of quality work.
7. Is body repair
their main business? Find out if the shop depends on quality body
repair for their reputation and income or whether they are supported
by car sales or other sources of income.
